Hoy No Circula Bans Yellow-Sticker Vehicles Ending in 5 and 6 in CDMX and Edomex

Overview

  • The ban applies from 05:00 to 22:00 for vehicles with yellow engomado, hologram 1 and 2, and plates ending in 5 or 6 across both CDMX and Edomex.
  • Exempt from restrictions are vehicles with hologram 00 and 0, electric and hybrid models, taxis, motorcycles, public transport, heavy-duty cargo and authorized health personnel.
  • In CDMX, violators risk fines between 20 and 200 UMAs (≈2,262.8–22,628 pesos) plus impoundment; State of Mexico penalties are deferred during a six-month socialization phase.
  • Since July 1, the program has expanded to cover 16 Mexico City boroughs and over 40 municipalities in the State of Mexico under a unified rotation schedule.
  • Authorities have not activated the Doble Hoy No Circula contingency today; they may enforce it if air quality or meteorological conditions deteriorate.
