Overview

• On Tuesday, August 12 the restriction bars pink-engomado vehicles with plate endings 7 and 8 and holograms 1 or 2 from circulating between 5 am and 10 pm
• Mexico City authorities are issuing fines and impounding violators while Estado de México remains in a penalty-free socialization phase through December 2025
• Exempt vehicles include those with holograms 00 and 0, electric and hybrid cars, authorized public transport, and emergency, school and disability-permit vehicles
• Since July 1 the Hoy No Circula program has operated under a region-wide rotation to curb urban air pollution by alternating bans based on sticker color, plate digit and verification hologram
• Air-quality monitors have not triggered any Doble Hoy No Circula escalation, keeping contingency restrictions inactive to date
