Houston Edges UCF 30–27 on Late Field Goal and End-Zone Interception

The outcome bolsters Houston's Big 12 pursuit, with UCF now needing two wins to reach a bowl.

  • Ethan Sanchez hit a 22-yard field goal with 2:31 left to cap a nearly eight-minute, 15-play Houston drive that broke a 27–27 tie.
  • Safety Kentrell Webb sealed the win with an end-zone interception in the final seconds after UCF inserted backup Davi Belfort for an injured Tayven Jackson and drove into scoring range.
  • UCF safety Phillip Dunnam intercepted three passes, returning one 43 yards for a touchdown, but the Knights managed only 104 yards and three points after halftime.
  • Conner Weigman threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 82 as Houston overcame four turnovers, including a game-tying 9-yard TD catch by Dean Connors.
