Republicans have been threatening to impeach Mayorkas since they took control of the House in January, with the resolution coming days after eight people died in a vehicle collision involving a suspected human smuggler on a Texas highway.
The House Committee on Homeland Security, chaired by Rep. Mark Green, is expected to support impeaching Mayorkas after the committee issued four reports building its case to impeach him for 'dereliction of duty'.
