House Rules Committee Discusses Bills to Block Biden's Policies
Proposed legislation includes the CARS Act to prevent a nationwide scale-up of electric vehicle sales, a bill to tighten foreign gift reporting for educational institutions, and a bill to block Biden's student loan repayment plan.
- The House Rules Committee is meeting to discuss three bills aimed at blocking some of President Joe Biden’s policies.
- The Choice in Automobile Retail Sales Act of 2023 would prevent the EPA from finalizing its new proposed rule aiming to scale up sales of electric cars and trucks nationwide.
- Another bill aims to tighten foreign gift reporting requirements for colleges and universities and their faculty members.
- The House committee will also take up a bill that would block Biden’s new student loan repayment plan, SAVE.
- If the CARS Act is passed, it would then be voted on by the Senate, where Republicans and Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin recently introduced companion legislation.
