House Republicans Propose 400,000 Silver Dollars Honoring Charlie Kirk

The plan still requires congressional approval with the Treasury responsible for the final design.

  • Republican Study Committee Chair August Pfluger and Rep. Abe Hamadeh said they will file legislation this week directing the Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollar coins bearing Charlie Kirk’s likeness.
  • The coins would be legal tender, show Kirk’s image on one side, display the phrase “well done, good and faithful servant” on the other, and include his full name and the year 2026.
  • Under established commemorative-coin practice, the Treasury Secretary would select the final design in consultation with President Donald Trump.

  • The push follows a bipartisan House resolution last week honoring Kirk and denouncing political violence, as Republicans also propose medals, a remembrance day, and a Capitol statue.
