Overview

  • Four former Biden aides—Neera Tanden, Anthony Bernal, Ashley Williams, and Annie Tomasini—will give voluntary transcribed interviews to the House Oversight Committee between June 24 and July 18.
  • Committee Chair James Comer subpoenaed Biden’s personal physician, Kevin O’Connor, to appear for a deposition on July 27 regarding the president’s health assessments.
  • Earlier this month the committee expanded its probe by requesting transcribed interviews with five additional former Biden staffers, with scheduling still pending.
  • Republicans are examining whether aides concealed signs of cognitive decline and authorized use of an autopen for executive actions such as sweeping pardons.
  • The inquiry follows allegations in the book Original Sin and heightened scrutiny after Biden disclosed an aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis.
