House Judiciary Committee Investigates Fulton County DA Fani Willis
Allegations of Coordination with Jan. 6 Committee Prompt Probe
- House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and Rep. Barry Loudermilk have launched an investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, alleging she coordinated with the House Jan. 6 Committee in their investigations.
- The probe comes after Jordan and Loudermilk discovered a letter from Willis to Jan. 6 Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, in which she requested access to records relevant to her investigation.
- Willis has been prosecuting former President Donald Trump and 18 others for their alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
- Jordan and Loudermilk have requested all documents and communications between Willis’ office and the Jan. 6 Committee, as well as any documents related to the possession of select committee documents by Willis’ office.
- Willis has previously rebuffed Jordan's efforts to examine her case, stating there is 'no justification in the Constitution for Congress to interfere with a state criminal matter.'
