• Schleswig-Holstein Minister-President Daniel Günther presented the Order of Merit to the 74-year-old at the Kieler Landtag.
• The honor cites services to the common good with emphasis on long-term coaching work in youth development and women’s football.
• As a player, Hrubesch won three Bundesliga titles with HSV, lifted the 1983 European Cup, and was part of Germany’s Euro 1980 triumph.
• His coaching résumé includes European championships with Germany’s U19 and U21 teams in 2008 and 2009 and Olympic bronze with the women’s team in Paris 2024.
