Horse Named 'Lucky' Rescued from Los Angeles Sinkhole

A 20-year-old horse named 'Lucky' was rescued by over 60 firefighters after being trapped in a sinkhole in Los Angeles for several hours.

More than 60 Los Angeles firefighters, along with animal control and sanitation workers, rescued a 20-year-old horse named 'Lucky' from a sinkhole.
The rescue operation took place in Lake View Terrace, where 'Lucky' was trapped up to her chest in a backyard sinkhole.
The operation involved heavy equipment, including an excavator and a specialized harness, to safely hoist 'Lucky' out of the sinkhole.
'Lucky's' owner reported the horse fell into the sinkhole after tripping on asphalt, leading to a struggle that worsened her situation.
The horse was evaluated by an on-site veterinarian and is lucky to be alive, according to LA city fire captain and public information officer Adam VanGerpen.
