Hornets Add PJ Hall on Two-Way Deal, Waive Drew Peterson
The move addresses Charlotte’s thin center rotation due to injuries.
Overview
- Agent Matt Bollero told ESPN that Charlotte signed former Clemson center PJ Hall to a two-way contract on Dec. 24, and the Hornets waived two-way forward Drew Peterson to open the spot.
- The frontcourt addition follows injuries to centers Ryan Kalkbrenner (left elbow sprain) and Mason Plumlee (right groin strain), leaving Moussa Diabate as the lone healthy traditional five.
- Hall has produced in the G League with the Greensboro Swarm and Memphis Hustle, averaging 14.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 27.5 minutes across 14 games.
- The 6-foot-8 big man previously held two-way deals with the Nuggets and Grizzlies, logging limited NBA time (26 games total) before Memphis waived him in November to add Jahmai Mashack.
- A first-team All-ACC performer at Clemson who joined the Swarm after his Memphis stint, Hall also played for Charlotte’s Summer League squad before this season.
