Hong Kong to Welcome Two Giant Pandas from Beijing This Week

The pandas, An An and Ke Ke, will undergo quarantine before meeting the public in December; a citywide naming contest is set for October.

The giant pandas, An An and Ke Ke, will arrive in Hong Kong on Thursday, marking a significant cultural gift from Beijing.
Upon arrival, the pandas will undergo 30 days of quarantine at Ocean Park Hong Kong, followed by another 30 days to adapt to their new environment.
A welcome ceremony will be held at Hong Kong International Airport, led by Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki.
Hong Kong will host a citywide naming contest in October to give the pandas meaningful new names, alongside a drawing contest to celebrate their arrival.
The pandas were gifted to Hong Kong to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the city's return to Chinese sovereignty.
