Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum Names 17-Project Initial In-Development Slate for 2026

The forum pairs emerging directors with veteran producers to court financing at March’s market.

  • The selected projects will be showcased March 17–19 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre alongside Hong Kong Filmart.
  • HKIFF Industry drew 414 submissions from 38 countries and regions, with Asian entries accounting for 82% of the total.
  • Producer attachments include Anthony Chen on Tan Ce Ding’s Somewhere in the South, Stanley Kwan on Sasha Chuk’s 131, and Eiko Mizuno-Gray with Toei on Emma Kawawada’s Life Is Yours.
  • The slate spans comedy, fantasy, drama and more, reflecting cross-border collaborations from China, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Kyrgyzstan and beyond.
  • Organizers plan to reveal additional genre and animation titles as well as Work-in-Progress selections in the coming weeks.
