Honey Irani’s Driver Arrested in Rs 12 Lakh Fuel-Card Fraud Linked to Farhan Akhtar

The arrest follows an audit by Honey Irani’s manager that flagged implausible fuel charges linked to cards in Farhan Akhtar’s name.

Overview

  • Bandra Police arrested driver Naresh Ramvinod Singh after FIR No. 1668/2025 was filed on October 1, booking him and petrol pump employee Arun Amar Bahadur Singh under BNS sections 316(2), 318(4) and 3(5).
  • Investigators say fuel cards were repeatedly swiped at an SV Road pump in Bandra without refuelling, with cash handed over after a Rs 1,000–1,500 cut per transaction.
  • The alleged misuse stretched from April 2022 to September 2025, with losses estimated at around Rs 12 lakh.
  • The scheme came to light when manager Diya Bhatia spotted impossible refuels for a 35-litre tank and purchases recorded for a car sold years earlier.
  • According to the complaint, Naresh confessed and claimed he obtained three cards in 2022 from former driver Santosh Kumar; police say Arun is on the run as efforts continue to recover funds and identify any other participants.
