Overview
- LG Energy Solution agreed to sell the building and other building-related assets of its Ohio battery plant to Honda’s U.S. manufacturing arm for 4.22 trillion won, or roughly $2.9 billion.
- The deal excludes the land and equipment and does not change the Honda–LG joint venture, under which LG will continue operating the facility.
- LG said the sale is intended to recover capital tied up in fixed assets and improve operational efficiency.
- Closing is targeted for February 28, 2026, and LG noted the final price may be adjusted.
- Honda plans to use the plant’s output to supply its new dedicated EV lineup, including the Acura RSX and ensuing 0 Series models.
