Overview

  • The recall covers 259,033 Honda Pilot, Acura TLX and Acura MDX models from model years 2021 to 2025 after a brake pedal pivot pin was found potentially unsecured.
  • Honda’s investigation, launched in April 2024, confirmed the defect on June 5, 2025, following a customer report of unexpected brake pedal movement.
  • About 1 percent of recalled vehicles are estimated to have the defect and three warranty claims have been filed, though no injuries or deaths have been linked to the issue.
  • Owners will receive letters by July 28 and can have their vehicles inspected and repaired free of charge at authorized Honda and Acura dealerships.
  • Production has shifted to a Mexican facility where Honda has installed camera sensors and extra verification steps to ensure proper brake pedal assembly.
