Overview

• Honda unveiled the Prelude-GT prototype at Sportsland Sugo on September 30 and completed its first shakedown there the following day.
• HRC will phase out the Civic Type R-GT after 2025 following a lean season to date and just one win since its 2024 debut.
• Project lead Masahiro Saeki said the timing exploits Super GT's brief lift of the aero freeze in 2026 before restrictions return through 2029.
• The GT500 Prelude is a silhouette racer with a carbon chassis, rear-wheel drive and an expected 2.0-liter turbo output of roughly 650 hp, with full technical details and driver lineups still to come.
