Homeowner cleared after fatal shooting of student entering wrong home

A University of South Carolina student was shot and killed after trying to forcibly enter the wrong home.
The homeowner fired through a window when the student reached inside, and was legally justified in the shooting.
Police ruled the incident a justifiable homicide and no charges will be filed against the homeowner.
The student had recently moved and mistakenly tried to enter a neighbor's similar looking home.
The homeowner was protected under the state's castle doctrine and stand your ground laws.
