- Kendrid Khalil Hamlin, a homeless man with a history of schizophrenia and substance abuse, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for assaulting Democratic Rep. Angie Craig in her Washington D.C. apartment building elevator.
- Hamlin followed Craig into the elevator, punched her in the face, and grabbed her by the neck. Craig managed to escape by throwing her hot coffee at him.
- Hamlin also assaulted two law enforcement officers who were arresting him later in the day.
