Homeless Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Soho Glass Bottle Stabbing

The attack occurred on Monday, April 7, 2025, around 3 p.m. at Wooster and Broome streets in Soho, Manhattan.
The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was stabbed in the neck with broken bottle glass and remains in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital.
The suspect, Muslim Brunson, 46, a homeless man with a history of prior arrests, was apprehended at the scene after initially providing a fake name to police.
Brunson has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Authorities are investigating whether Brunson attacked another individual with the bottle prior to targeting the victim.
