Hollie Doyle Lands 20-1 Winner on First Night of Hong Kong Stint

Her fast start sets up a licensed stay through December 23 with a booking for the International Jockeys’ Challenge on December 10.

Overview

  • Doyle made all to win the Class Four Japan Racing Association Trophy over 1,200m at Happy Valley, scoring by one and a quarter lengths on Run Run Smart.
  • The winner was sent off at around 20-1 and outpaced odds-on favourite Lunar Dash after securing the early lead.
  • Run Run Smart previously raced in Britain as Asktheboss, where Doyle rode him to victory at Chester in June 2024 for trainer Adrian Keatley.
  • Trainer Frankie Lor said he chose Doyle for the ride because of her prior win on the horse and her judgement from a wide draw.
  • Licensed to ride in Hong Kong until December 23, Doyle joins a deep jockey roster with prior local experience that includes February meetings and past International Jockeys’ Championship appearances.
