Hodgson Signs One-Year Contract Extension with Crystal Palace

  • Roy Hodgson has agreed to remain as Crystal Palace manager for the next season.
  • The 75-year-old has verbally agreed to a one-year deal with contracts in the process of being formalised.
  • Palace considered other candidates but ultimately felt Hodgson's record last season and his strong relationship with many of the squad made him the standout candidate.
  • This is the third time Hodgson has been appointed by Palace, with his first spell in charge beginning in 2017 and lasting just under four years.
  • Hodgson's career in the dugout has spanned more than 45 years and taken in teams including Inter Milan, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion and Palace, as well as the national sides of Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Finland.
