Overview

• Hockey Canada invited 92 players—42 NHL stars, 30 women’s national team members and 20 para hockey athletes—to orientation camps in Calgary from Aug. 26 to 28.
• The men’s invitees include six players already locked into the preliminary Olympic roster—Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Brayden Point and Sam Reinhart—alongside veterans and rising prospects from the 4 Nations Face-Off.
• Seventeen members of Canada’s 2022 Olympic women’s gold medal team, headlined by Marie-Philip Poulin, Sarah Fillier, Erin Ambrose and Natalie Spooner, join younger talents such as Chloe Primerano for off-ice evaluation.
• Canada’s para roster features nine 2022 Paralympic silver medallists and 16 gold medallists from the 2024 World Championship, including Tyler McGregor, Dominic Cozzolino and Liam Hickey, vying for 15 final spots.
• The off-ice program will use structured presentations, team-building sessions and staff meetings to assess athletes and shape final rosters capped at 25 men, 23 women and 15 para competitors.
