Fifty-five percent of New Yorkers say they would prefer a different governor in 2026 after rating her unfavorably

  • Hochul’s favorability rating stands at 42 percent positive versus 47 percent negative in a Siena College poll conducted June 23–26.
  • Only 37 percent of voters would reelect her, while 55 percent say they want a different governor in the 2026 race.
  • She holds double-digit leads in hypothetical general election matchups against Republicans Elise Stefanik (47–24 percent), Mike Lawler (44–24 percent) and Bruce Blakeman (44–19 percent).
  • Between 25 percent and 33 percent of respondents remain undecided in each matchup, preventing her from reaching a majority above 50 percent.
  • In a three-way Democratic primary simulation, Hochul leads with 49 percent support, followed by Antonio Delgado at 12 percent and Ritchie Torres at 10 percent.
