  • An anonymous bomb threat call to the US Consulate in Mumbai’s BKC area on June 14 also proved to be a hoax after a full security sweep.
  • Police and bomb disposal squads conducted thorough searches at each location, finding no explosives and declaring all alerts false.
  • FIRs have been filed under sections addressing criminal intimidation and cyberterrorism as investigators work to trace IP addresses and pinpoint the sender.
  • Officials believe the incidents are part of a broader coordinated hoax campaign, echoing 169 false bomb threats reported in Karnataka between 2022 and 2024.
