  • Emails and calls late on November 16 named Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, actors Ajith Kumar and Rajinikanth, and other public figures and institutions.
  • Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad teams searched the CM’s Teynampet residence, IIT Madras, Chennai One IT Park, PSBB School, and a Malaysia Airlines flight, and found no explosives.
  • The first alert was an email from kamakshi_selvaganesh@mail2tor.email to the Director General of Police claiming a device at the chief minister’s residence.
  • Further checks covered the homes of K. S. Ravikumar, Sneha, music director Anirudh, Thankar Bachan, Vadivukarasi, properties linked to medical professionals, and a location tied to former Union minister M. K. Alagiri in Madurai.
  • Police enhanced monitoring at sensitive sites as the Cybercrime Wing examines server routes and technical trails consistent with a recent pattern of hoax threats in Tamil Nadu.
