The reopening of the store is expected to create over 70 new jobs and is seen as a vote of confidence for physical stores in an increasingly digital age.
Under the ownership of Canadian entrepreneur Doug Putman, HMV returned to profit in 2022 and has expanded to over 120 outlets in the UK and Europe.
The resurgence of HMV mirrors the growth of the vinyl market, with vinyl sales accounting for half of HMV's physical music sales.
