Overview
- The 65,000-ton carrier conducted an aerial capability demonstration in international waters near Busan on Sept. 8, the British Embassy in Seoul said.
- After the demonstration, South Korea and the United Kingdom held interoperability drills involving three ships from each navy, according to Yonhap.
- Over the weekend, four British F-35B jets from the carrier trained with Japan’s F-35A and F-15 fighters over the Sea of Japan in a one-day maneuver.
- The exercises are part of Operation Highmast, the Royal Navy’s eight-month Indo-Pacific deployment focused on sustained presence and combined training.
- The Royal Navy says the carrier is now on its homeward voyage following its Pacific activities and port visits in Japan.
