HMRTC Starts Transfer of Gurugram Rapid Metro Operations From DMRC to GMRL

A handholding period with joint committees is intended to ensure a smooth transfer as definitive timelines are finalized.

  • Operations and maintenance will be jointly managed by DMRC and GMRL until the takeover is complete.
  • Three joint committees with defined terms of reference are reviewing technical matters, asset and legal issues, and revenue and operations, with the final timetable yet to be published.
  • Ridership reached 62.49 lakh between April and July 2025, up 13.59% year on year, as fare revenue rose 11.87% and operating expenses fell 6.33%.
  • Non-fare income hit ₹21.11 crore in April–July, and an e-auction of 22 viaduct and pillar advertising sites is projected to yield ₹58.34 crore annually, with HMRTC’s share exceeding ₹35 crore.
