• Parents must extend their claim by 31 August to keep receiving payments from September.
• More than 509,000 have already renewed, with a record 67% completing the process online.
• HMRC has written to 1.5 million eligible households with guidance to renew online, and families who previously opted out can restart payments via the app.
• Child Benefit pays £26.05 a week for the eldest or only child and £17.25 a week for each additional child.
