- More than 509,000 parents extended their claims, with a record 67% doing so online after HMRC contacted roughly 1.5 million eligible households.
- Eligibility now includes home-educated 16–19-year-olds and those unable to attend college for the required hours due to illness or disability.
- Child Benefit pays £26.05 per week for the eldest or only child and £17.25 for each additional child, with payments usually made every four weeks.
- Families with an individual earner between £60,000 and £80,000 may face the High Income Child Benefit Charge, and many employed parents will soon be able to pay it through their PAYE tax code instead of Self Assessment.
