Overview

• Chicago police say a black sedan ran a stop sign at Catalpa Avenue around 10:40 p.m., striking a northbound CTA bus in the 5500 block of North Central Avenue.
• The impact sent the bus out of control, hitting a parked car and a fence before crashing into the side of a residential building.
• The bus driver, a 46-year-old woman, suffered a head laceration and was hospitalized in fair condition; no passengers were aboard and no other injuries were reported.
• Chicago Fire determined the house sustained structural damage, five residents were displaced, the building was posted off-limits, and the American Red Cross was notified.
