Overview
- Historic England added three Birmingham locations to the National Heritage List for England as part of 35 Midlands entries in 2025.
- Bournville Radio Sailing and Model Boat Club boathouse and pond were listed at Grade II, built in 1933 through Cadbury philanthropy that employed and trained 64 long‑term unemployed men, and classed as one of just 11 surviving pre‑war model boating clubhouses in England.
- King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls was listed at Grade II*, a 1911 P. B. Chatwin neoclassical design noted for retaining its original plan and many fixtures.
- The Church of St Chad in Rubery received Grade II status, a 1956–60 Richard Twentyman church opened in 1960 by Princess Margaret and featuring sculpture by Geoffrey Clarke.
- Historic England invited the public to contribute photos and memories of the newly protected places through its Missing Pieces Project.
