Hindustan Zinc Reports Record Q3 as Profit Jumps 46% on Strong Prices, Volumes

Stronger realizations on zinc, coupled with record silver, powered margin expansion.

Overview

  • Consolidated net profit rose to Rs 3,916 crore in Q3 FY26, up 46.3% year on year and nearly 48% sequentially, based on unaudited results.
  • Revenue from operations increased 27.5% year on year to Rs 10,980 crore, with EBITDA at Rs 6,087 crore, up about 34% year on year and 36% quarter on quarter.
  • Operating efficiency improved with an EBIT margin of 47%, versus 42% in both Q2 FY26 and Q3 FY25, aided by stable costs and lower finance expenses.
  • Silver output reached 158 MT, up 10% sequentially, contributing 44% of quarterly profits as firmer zinc and record silver prices lifted realizations.
  • The outturn broadly topped pre-release revenue forecasts of Rs 9,500–10,239 crore; shares gained up to 4.7% intraday and closed 3.74% higher, as the company also reported 9MFY26 revenue of Rs 27,300 crore and net profit of Rs 8,799 crore.
