Himachal Pradesh Unveils Digital Eco-Tourism Booking and Trek Management
It aims to generate Rs 200 crore over five years through a phased rollout of 77 designated sites, with a companion mobile app under development.

- Over 100 forest rest houses and camping sites are now available for online booking through the Himachal Pradesh Eco-Tourism Society website.
- A trekking management system listing more than 245 routes by difficulty has gone live alongside plans for a mobile guidance app.
- Eco-tourism operators have been appointed for seven flagship locations, including Potter Hill and Shoghi in Shimla and Solang Nallah and Kasol in Kullu’s Parvati Valley.
- Local forest-circle committees have been formed and over 70 nature guides along with 135 multi-purpose workers have been trained to manage visitor experiences.
- The policy complies with Union environmental rules and the amended Forest Conservation Act and ties into the Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojna for sapling planting to boost forest cover.
