  • Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu flagged off a 20-member Indian contingent from Shimla on July 12 ahead of the Shitokai Goju-Ryu Karate Championship in Osaka from July 15 to 23.

  • Eleven athletes are from Roots Country School in Baghi, with the remainder representing other regions of Himachal Pradesh and beyond.

  • Himachal Pradesh raised prize money for Olympic gold from Rs 3 crore to Rs 5 crore and Asian Games gold from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 4 crore under new policies that aim to motivate athletes, promote youth discipline and deter drug abuse.
