Himachal Pradesh Deploys 12 E-Scooters for Doorstep HIV and TB Care

The state government has launched a SACS-backed initiative delivering medication, with screening alongside counselling services across eight districts to support more than 6,000 people living with HIV and related infections.

Overview

  • On June 25, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu flagged off the fleet of 12 e-scooters from his Oak Over residence in Shimla.
  • The scooters were provided by the State AIDS Control Society to the Health Department for deployment across eight districts.
  • Mobile teams will deliver medications, perform health screenings and provide counselling to patients with HIV, STIs, TB and hepatitis.
  • The initiative is designed to ensure uninterrupted treatment and drive viral load suppression among people living with HIV.
