Overview
- In a high-level meeting in Shimla, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena directed an accelerated timeline for the NDRF headquarters at Mandi and response centres at Nalagarh and Rampur.
- The state will strengthen the SDRF through a dedicated training module and schedule tailored to mountainous and high-altitude operations.
- SDRF personnel will receive hands-on drone training for aerial inspection, locating survivors in inaccessible terrain, rapid damage assessment and precise supply drops.
- Model guidelines will be developed for ethical, transparent use of artificial intelligence to improve forecasting, damage mapping, resource allocation and public alerts.
- An eco-friendly protocol for muck and debris disposal will be prepared for post-flood recovery, and NDRF’s director general highlighted available capacity-building courses for the SDRF.
