Overview

  • The SDMA reports 360 deaths this season, with 197 in rain-related incidents and 163 in road accidents.
  • Power and water networks remain strained, with 1,992 distribution transformers affected and 472 water supply schemes out of service.
  • A total of 1,001 roads are blocked, including national highways NH-03, NH-305 and NH-505, with the Lossar–Batal section shut due to landslides.
  • Rescue operations continue as the IAF evacuated 524 Manimahesh pilgrims by Chinook and airdropped rations and tarpaulins, while searches persist in Kullu after house collapses.
  • The chief minister said the state has prepared a ₹3,000 crore World Bank assistance project, and the IMD projects continued rain through September 11 with isolated heavy spells on September 8 and 9.
