Overview

• Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated a new Government Senior Secondary School Boys building (₹8.79 Cr), a state-of-the-art academic block at Government Degree College (₹12 Cr) and laid the foundation for a girls’ hostel (₹5 Cr).
• The existing boys’ school will convert to a co-educational CBSE model from the next academic session to align with English-medium reforms.
• The state has earmarked ₹200 Cr to establish Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day Boarding Schools in every assembly constituency with smart classrooms and extensive facilities.
• Himachal Pradesh is investing ₹1,350 Cr to upgrade medical technology across government hospitals and is expediting environmental clearances for the PGI Satellite Centre in Una.
• Recruitment drives are under way for 961 TGT positions, with 600 Junior Basic Teacher roles to follow, alongside the hiring of 500 English-subject experts and the rollout of Class 1 English-medium instruction.
