Mayor Eric Adams condemned the incident as a 'vile show of antisemitism' and stated that it will not be tolerated in any of the city's schools.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) responded to the incident and escorted the teacher safely out of the building.
The Department of Education is conducting a full investigation into the incident, and Project Pivot teams will begin outreach with students at Hillcrest to ensure they understand why this behavior was unacceptable.
