Hiker Rescued from Cliffside in Dramatic California Operation

A 22-year-old was saved by a helicopter crew after clinging to a rock face for an hour near the Golden Gate.

A 22-year-old hiker, Cody Cretini, was rescued from a cliffside in California's Golden Gate National Recreation Area after falling and clinging to the rock face for an hour.
The dramatic rescue was executed by a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office helicopter crew using thermal imaging to locate Cretini in the dark.
Cretini, who had decided to climb the cliff for a shortcut, was about 50 feet up when the rocks began to crumble beneath him.
The rescue operation was described as one of the most precarious due to Cretini's rapidly diminishing grip and the rising ocean tide below.
After being airlifted to safety, Cretini was treated for minor injuries and expressed gratitude to the rescue team for saving his life.
