Overview

• The Road Transport Ministry has ordered a DPR for a Lebong–Dabai Pani–Teesta highway to relieve pressure on the British-era NH-110.
• Darjeeling MP Raju Bista has asked NHIDCL to study a Siliguri–Darjeeling alignment passing through Orali, Lower Balason, Balason, Dhotrey, Pussumbeng and Ghoom.
• He has urged the Parvatmala Project to include a Ghoom–Darjeeling ropeway as an eco-friendly alternative for steep terrain transport.
