Highway 24 Near Florissant Closed After Fatal Morning Crashes

Investigators are working to determine which of two separate wrecks led to the death.

Colorado State Patrol reports two crashes east of Florissant around 5:44 a.m., one involving four vehicles and another a single vehicle.
At least one person was killed, and two others were transported with injuries, including one airlifted by Flight For Life.
Highway 24 is closed in both directions between Teller County Road 1 and Teller County Road 42 during the investigation and cleanup.
Traffic is being detoured onto Teller County Road 1, and drivers should expect delays with no estimated reopening time provided.
As of 8:20 a.m., troopers and emergency crews remained on scene to document evidence and clear the roadway.
