Overview

• The pursuit began when a white van collided with multiple cars in the Domain Tunnel and police units gave chase.
• Helicopter footage captured the heavily damaged van traveling on its rims with sparks flying as it weaved through motorway traffic for about 15 minutes.
• After exiting at Palmers Road in Point Cook the van clipped street signs on Dunnings Road before the driver leapt from the moving vehicle.
• A trailing unmarked police car incapacitated the man upon his exit and officers immediately handcuffed and detained him.
• Paramedics treated the suspect at the scene and Victoria Police have not yet provided an official statement on the operation.
