High School Golfer Named ‘Happy Gilmore’ Commits to Ball State, Receives Praise from Actor Adam Sandler

A high school golfer with the nickname "Happy Gilmore" has committed to play golf at Ball State University.
Although his real name is Landon Gilmore, he has gone by the nickname "Happy" since he first started playing golf at age 6.
Actor Adam Sandler, who played the titular character in the 1996 golf comedy "Happy Gilmore," congratulated the golfer on Twitter.
Gilmore is a standout high school golfer in Indiana who recently finished seventh in the state high school championship tournament.
He also won a regional title and qualified for the US Junior Amateur championship.
