Hershey Faces $5 Million Lawsuit Over 'Deceptive' Reese's Packaging

Cynthia Kelly has filed a class-action lawsuit against Hershey, alleging that the company falsely represented several of its holiday-themed Reese's products on packaging.
The lawsuit claims that the Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins and other products were advertised with 'cute' carvings of faces and other designs on the packaging, but the actual chocolates did not contain these decorations.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Florida, seeks class-action status on behalf of 'numerous consumers [who] have been tricked and misled by the pictures on the Products’ packaging.'
Kelly is seeking $5 million in damages, claiming she and other consumers purchased Reese's Peanut Butter products based on 'false and deceptive advertising.'
Hershey has declined to comment on the lawsuit.
