Heroic Secret Service Dog Hurricane Passes Away at 15

Hurricane, a Belgian Malinois and former Secret Service K-9, passed away at the age of 15 after a life of distinguished service.
The dog gained national fame in 2014 for subduing a White House intruder, sustaining injuries that ultimately led to his retirement in 2016.
Hurricane received multiple honors, including the Secretary's Award for Valor in 2015 and the Distinguished Service Medal in 2022, for his bravery and dedication.
In his retirement, Hurricane supported other working dogs through Hurricane's Heroes, a charity founded by his handler to provide veterinary care for retired service animals.
Hurricane's final day included a visit to the White House, where he was honored by his former team, before being laid to rest surrounded by those who cared for him.
