Hero Launches Updated Xtreme 160R 4V With Three Trims and New Electronics

Pairing modest engine gains with tiered ride-by-wire, USD forks, a TFT option, Hero is sharpening competitiveness in India's 160cc sporty segment.

Overview

  • Hero launched the 2026 Xtreme 160R 4V on Friday, October 16, 2026, opened nationwide bookings and set introductory ex-showroom prices at Rs 1.27 lakh for the Standard, Rs 1.37 lakh for the Pro and Rs 1.41 lakh for the Carbon with Pro and Carbon deliveries due from November 1, 2026 and the Standard arriving in January 2027.
  • All three variants keep the ~164cc oil-cooled four-valve single-cylinder engine with peak power raised marginally to 17.1 PS and the company has claimed a 0–60 km/h time of 4.4 seconds.
  • Hero is using clear feature separation to hit different buyer budgets: the Standard has a mechanical throttle, telescopic forks and single-channel ABS while the Pro adds ride-by-wire with three modes, cruise control, KYB 37 mm USD forks and dual-channel ABS.
  • The top Carbon trim builds on the Pro with a multi‑colour TFT display, illuminated switches and other cosmetic upgrades, and the higher trims share a 276 mm front petal disc, 220 mm rear disc and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload.
  • The staged pricing and feature spread aim to let Hero offer a lower-cost base model while upselling electronics and hardware, a move that could push rivals such as TVS and Bajaj to broaden their own trim and tech choices in the 160cc class.
