Overview

  • The Cabildo de Hermosillo voted July 15 to authorize security arches to issue speeding infractions using cameras and radars at city access points.
  • From August 1 to December 31 drivers clocked at 60–79 km/h will receive warnings and face provisional fines after four detections, while 80–99 km/h triggers automatic infractions subject to validation.
  • Vehicles exceeding 100 km/h will prompt alerts to the Centro de Monitoreo y Seguridad Vial and may incur preventive detentions under municipal traffic protocols.
  • The photo-detection system covers the northern, southern and western entryways via boulevards Enrique Mazón, Cloutier and García Morales.
  • June monitoring data showed over 200,000 vehicles exceeding 85 km/h, a key driver behind the city’s push to curb speeding and improve safety.
